“What we call an image is either visible or refers to something that could be visible, but not every image is something visible.
(...) Everything that is part of the visual world can serve as a basis for an image, but the image does not necessarily refer back to it.
Whether the image is based on something that already exists as a sight or on something previously unseen, it is always connected to yet another, different sphere as well. //
